⨠Year in Review
đż Restoring Local Habitats
This year, our volunteers and staff planted over 2,500 native trees, restored 14 acres of riparian habitat, and launched the new Pollinator Pathways Program. Thanks to community participation, monarch butterflies made a noticeable return to several key corridors.
Â
đ§ Supporting Healthy Watersheds
Our team completed six major erosion control projects, preventing an estimated 180 tons of sediment from entering local waterways. We also expanded our well-monitoring program, helping agricultural partners make data-informed decisions for sustainable water use.
đ Partnering With Local Landowners
More than 40 ranchers and farmers participated in our soil health workshops and cost-share programs. Together we implemented practices that improve resilience, increase productivity, and protect long-term land viability.
đ Holiday Giving & Community Support
Looking for a meaningful way to give back?
Here are a few festive ideas:
- Donate to our Native Seed Fund
- Sponsor a student field day for area schools
- Volunteer for our upcoming January Tree Planting Week
- Bring gently used gloves, tools, or water bottles to our office for volunteer kits
Every contributionâbig or smallâhelps strengthen conservation efforts right here at home.
âď¸ Winter Reminders
- Please check livestock water sources regularly during freezing weather.
- Keep storm drains clear of leaves to reduce localized flooding.
- If you plan to burn brush piles, be sure to review seasonal restrictions and obtain proper permits.
Weâre also preparing our annual Snowmelt Forecast Workshop, coming in Februaryâstay tuned!
đ From Our Team to Yours
We are grateful for your continued commitment to protecting the land, water, and wildlife of Green Valley. May this holiday season bring you peace, warmth, and joyâand may the new year be filled with fresh opportunities to care for our natural world.
